Business Office Technology Offered This Spring

Cerro Coso Community College is offering Business Office Technology classes in Lake Isabella this spring designed to prepare students for challenging positions as administrative assistants and office managers through industry standard computer applications courses to meet the needs of technologically dynamic offices.

BSOT C121- Beginning Word is a hands-on computer course that provides basic understanding of word processing concepts using Microsoft Word. Students create, edit, and format documents including business letters, multiple-page reports, newsletters, and cover letters. Mail merge and desktop publishing are also introduced. This course begins preparation for the Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam for Microsoft Word. The class will meet on Wednesdays from 10:20 am to 12:25 pm with instructor Nancy Johnson in Room 14, January 21 through March 11, 2015.

BSOT C131 – Beginning Excel will explore spreadsheet design, creation, revision, formatting and printing. This hands-on computer course will provide a basic understanding of spreadsheets. Students will create basic sales and expense reports, family budgets and basic business related spreadsheet documents using Microsoft Excel features and functions. This course begins preparation for the Microsoft Application Specialist certificate exam for Excel. This course will meet with Nancy Johnson on Mondays from 10:20 am to 12:25 pm in Room 14 beginning March 16th and ending May 13, 2015.
