The Cerro Coso Community College Child Development Center (CDC) in Ridgecrest has openings available for children 18 months to 5 years old. The program provides FREE or low cost child care to eligible parents who qualify.

The Center offers a safe and warm environment that nurtures an atmosphere where children can learn, grow, and thrive. A developmentally appropriate program funded through the Department of Education, the CDC provides part day preschool and full-time care and education to children of Cerro Coso students, faculty and staff, and the community based on available openings. CCCC students are given priority.

Staffed by Child Development Professionals, each classroom has credentialed teaching staff. The Center follows rules and regulations set by the California Department of Education Title 5 and Community Care Licensing Title 22 that regulates child to teacher ratios, teacher education and experience, and the overall accountability for the program.

Applications for child care services at Cerro Coso can be picked up at the Child Development Center or online at www.cerrocoso.edu/iwv/child-development-center.

The child care program at CCCC is designed to develop and integrate the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical areas of each child by providing opportunities to develop self-confidence, autonomy, initiative, and cooperative relationships.
