The Cerro Coso Coyote Club is partnering again with the Harlem Ambassadors to bring an entertaining brand of basketball back to Ridgecrest for a one night event Friday, May 9th at 7:00pm. The Harlem Ambassadors will match up against the Ridgecrest Rebounders in the Gymnasium at the Cerro Coso Community College Ridgecrest campus. Nearly 1,000 people attended last year’s event and saw the Ambassadors edge out the Rebounders in a tightly contested matchup featuring many former Burroughs High School players.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cerro Coso Coyote Club, which provides resources to help sustain the athletic programs at the College.

The Harlem Ambassadors play Harlem-style basketball featuring high-flying slam dunks, ball-handling tricks, comedy routines, music, dancing and games for children “We couldn’t be more excited to have the Harlem Ambassadors return to Ridgecrest,” Cerro Coso Athletic Director Joshua Sine said. “They bring an exciting and entertaining show that can be enjoyed by people of all ages,” Sine concluded.

"At our shows, we want the kids to know that they’re part of our team, too," Coach Ladè Majic said in a prepared statement.

"We invite as many kids as we can to come sit on the bench, have a front-row seat during the show, and get involved in all of the fun stuff we do," Majic said.

Since 1998, the Harlem Ambassadors have performed more than 2,400 professional comedy basketball games to help raise more than $9 million for communities in 50 states and 20 countries.
