Joshua Sine has joined Cerro Coso Community College as the new Director of Student Activities and Athletics. He previously served as the Director of New Student Programs for three and a half years at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah.

The Salt Lake City native was a student-athlete himself as a quarterback for the Dixie State football program and knows well the academic and support needs of student-athletes.

Joshua hopes to build a leadership program at Cerro Coso that encourages student engagement and creates a strong sense of campus community. "Helping students enhance their leadership skills and engage in their communities will add value to their college experience," said Joshua.

"I'm also looking forward to working with our coaches to expand athletic programs and activities that bring people back up this hill to attend events." The mission of Cerro Coso Community College athletics is to successfully develop the student-athlete as a person, student, and athlete. Joshua's experience will assist in developing athletic programs that motivate and inspire students to connect with the community, and build important leadership skills, networks, and relationships that improve the quality of student life and the community.

"Preparing students for success in college, careers, and life, is what I enjoy most about what I do," he concluded. Joshua holds a BS in English, Technical and Professional Writing from Dixie State University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Portland State University.

He and his wife Allison have two children: Royal and Millie. Millie was born at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital shortly after the family arrived.

Cerro Coso welcome Joshua and his family to the college and the community.
