A Cerro Coso Child Development Center Associate Teacher is a nurturer as well as an educator, encourages learning through exploration, and understands the balance between what children need to feel safe and what they require to reach their potential. For new CDC Associate Teacher Dawn Garcia it's about living her passion of working with children, watching them grow, learn, laugh, and explore. "I enjoy children in this age group," said Dawn. "They are funny , and I love creating safe, fun, educational experiences for them."

Dawn was born and raised in California City where she is serving as an Associate Teacher at Cerro Coso's Preschool. With more than 13 years in child care and education, Dawn holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Antelope Valley College.

Family time is very important to Dawn and her husband Reuben, who enjoy all kinds of sports with son Antonio (13) and daughter Isabella (9). It's about teamwork for Dawn who also serves as the Regional Commissioner for AYSO-Soccer in California City. Teamwork in her family, teamwork in the workplace, and teamwork on the field, is what keeps them strong, unified, and together. T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More.

Welcome Dawn to the Cerro Coso TEAM!
