Women's Volleyball had a great tournament over the weekend and went 3-0 in their matches. In their first match the girls defeated Imperial Valley 3-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-11) and looked fantastic in their opening match getting better each set and keeping the unforced errors to a minimum. Ashley Sherrick let the team with 15 kills with Nora Sellberg following up with 12. Adrianna Volentine led the team in digs with 23 and Ashley Sherrick had 14.

In their second match they defeated Cuyamaca 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-15) coming back strong after close loss in their first game. Ashley led the team with 18 kills, Laura Metcalf had 9, Nora Sellberg had 8, and Jessica lange had 6. The team's serve/receive passing looked stellar throughout the day and Ashley, Adrianna, and Nora led the team in that category. Adrianna led the team with 24 digs, Ashley had 18, and Candace Perez and Ashley Sherrick each added 7 digs to the team's total.

In their third match the ladies defeated the Imperial Valley Alumni team in 4 sets (20-25, 25-23, 29-27, 25-19) and Laura, from the outside hitter position, led the team with 16 kills, Jessica followed with 10, and Morgan fuller had 9. Morgan also had 6 serving aces and Candace Perez added 2. As a team the girl's had 10 stuff blocks and Jessica Lange led the team with 4 solos and Melissa followed with 2. Laura Metcalf, Roslyn Taliaferro, and Candace Perez led the team in digs 18 ,9, and 7 respectively.

As a whole the women had a great weekend! As coach Young said; "Our team's defense was excellent, our service receiving was much improved, and the passing throughout the day only improved. Defense creates offense, and we will only play as good as we pass. So the girls have been working hard every day in practice to pass and dig effectively. What impressed me the most was one when the girl's faced adversity in their first sets they came back strong and only got better!"
