Cerro Coso Community College is offering local artists an opportunity to work independently on their own drawings and paintings under the creative instruction of Lori Michelon in Mammoth Lakes. The class does not award college credit but will allow artists to set realistic project goals and seek creative solutions for their work.

Cerro Coso Community College is now accepting registrations for Community Workshop for Drawing and Painting offered through the College's Office of Community Education. The class is limited to 10 and is open to the public.

Community Workshop for Drawing and Painting will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 3 to 5 p.m., October 2 to December 11, 2013 in the Art Room 209, Eastern Sierra College Center, in Mammoth Lakes.

Michelon will assist participants to constructively critique their own work and the works of others.

A Beginning Drawing class will meet with Michelon on Tuesdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. from October 8 through November 12, 2013. A hands-on class, students will learn to develop the ability to observe and record images accurately, understand and use several different types of media, and how to build a broad visual grammar.

A Community Education fee of $50 will be charged for Community Workshop for Drawing and Painting and $90 for Beginning Drawing.

Complete registration and course information is available on the web at http://www.cerrocoso.edu/communityed or register in person at the Eastern Sierra College Center, 101 College Parkway in Mammoth Lakes or call (760) 934-2875.
