Cerro Coso Level II Basic Peace Officer Academy This Fall

Ridgecrest, California – Cerro Coso Community College is offering a Basic Peace Officers Level II Modular Academy this fall in Ridgecrest for those who have complete Level III training and are interested in a career in law enforcement.

ADMJ C143 (CRN 72460) is designed to fulfill State of California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirements for Level II academy certification. The course prepares students to successfully transition to the Basic Academy Modular Level I course.

Interested individuals must have successfully passed ADMJ C142 Basic Peace Officer Academy Level III with a minimum grade of C; meet current (within last 3 years) PC 832 Arrest and Firearms training requirements; training must be current in conformance with requirements of Regulation 1080; and passage of the POST – Constructed Comprehensive Module III End-of-Course Proficiency Test within the preceding 12 months.

Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 10 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning August 12, 2013.

Cerro Coso prepares students for careers as police officers; detectives; criminal investigators; corrections, parole, or probation officers; wardens; security investigators or specialists; lawyers; legal assistants; court administrators or Magistrates. The job opportunities are endless.
