CCCC Offering Community Ed Classes in Acting and Theatre Production

Ridgecrest, California – Cerro Coso Community College is again offering its popular Community Education classes in Acting and Theatre Production for ages 8 and older.

The acting classes provide a great opportunity to build self-confidence, learn techniques for memorizing scripts and acting on stage, improve communication skills, and understand the role of an actor/actress.

Classes will be offered for the following age groups:

Acting for Children I (ages 8 - 12) – Class will meet on Saturday mornings beginning February 9 through March 16, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A parent or adult is required to attend each session for this class. Acting for Children II will meet at the same days and times March 30 - May 4, 2013.

Acting for Teens I (ages 13 - 17) – Class will meet on Saturday mornings beginning February 9 through March 16, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Acting for Teens II will meet at the same days and times March 26 - May 4, 2013.

Acting for Adults I (ages 18 and older) – Class will meet on Tuesday evenings beginning February 5 through March 12, 2013 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Acting for Adults II will meet at the same days and times March 26 - April 30, 2013.

The fee for each class is $35 per person and the enrollment is limited to 15 for each class. Students under the age of 13, a parent or guardian must be present.

Theater Production: Rocky Horror Picture Show is for those interested in learning how to put on a theatre production from start to finish, including: stage preparation, lighting, sound systems, and image presentation. This class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and is open to anyone ages 18 and up. There is a fee of $65 per person and the class size is limited to 50. This class will begin February 4 and meet through April 15.

Classes are open to the public and will be taught by expert instructor, Elena Vitale, in the College Lecture Center, Room 250.
