Criminal Justice careers can be exciting and rewarding. Cerro Coso Community College offers a State Certified program in Administration of Justice. This course of study offers a broad base of knowledge which is designed to provide the foundation for the pursuit of advanced studies in criminal justice and offers students the opportunity to prepare for careers in law enforcement and corrections.
Cerro Coso's Administration of Justice Program prepares students for careers as police officers; detectives; criminal investigators; corrections, parole, or probation officers; wardens; security investigators or specialists; lawyers; legal assistants; court administrators or Magistrates. The job opportunities are endless.
ADMJ C05 Concepts of Criminal Law will meet Thursday nights from 6 to 9:10 p.m. in Room 11 of the Kern River Valley Plaza. This course will survey the historical development, philosophy, and constitutional provisions of the law and its impact within the criminal justice system. Students develop a working knowledge of legal terms and their definitions. This class also covers the classification of crime and its causation and will conduct analytical research and study case law decisions. Registration fee for this 3-unit class is $138 plus the cost of the book.
