Cerro Coso Welcomes Frank Timpone

September 7, 2012

Ridgecrest, CA - Cerro Coso Community College is pleased to introduce new full-time business instructor Frank Timpone to the faculty.

Frank has over 22 years of higher education teaching experience in addition to being a successful entrepreneur. He teaches for National University, University of Redlands, University of La Verne, and the University of Phoenix while being the Controller and Partner of a Manufacturing New Products Company in Los Angeles.

His greatest challenge to date is teaching finance and health care accounting to nurses. "Their focus and interests are on patient care," said Frank. "They're not business students. Yet, there is a need for them to understand how economic concepts apply to health care policy, cost management, and the accounting factors that can help them better manage resources."

Frank grew up in Evergreen Park, Chicago and loves golf, tennis, movies, plays, and traveling. Especially memorable destinations for Frank include trips to China and Mexico.

Frank is looking forward to tapping into the entrepreneur drive of Cerro Coso students not afraid to take risks in the pursuit of new ventures. He plans to use his role as instructor and mentor to help students become innovative, independent, optimistic, creative, and hard-working.

Frank holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and Economics from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Florida State University.
