CCCC Offering Community Ed Classes in Acting and Theatre Production

Ridgecrest, California – Cerro Coso Community College is again offering its popular Community Education classes in Acting and Theatre Production for ages 9 and older.

The acting classes provide a great opportunity to build self-confidence, learn techniques for memorizing scripts and acting on stage, improve communication skills, and understand the role of an actor/actress.

Classes will be offered for the following age groups:

Acting for Children (ages 9 - 13) – Class will meet on Saturday mornings beginning January 14, 2012 through February 18, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A parent or adult is required to attend each session for this class.

Acting for Teens (ages 14 - 16) – Class will meet on Saturday mornings beginning January 14, 2012 through February 18, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Acting for Adults (ages 17 and older) – Class will meet on Tuesday evenings beginning January 17, 2012 through February 21, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The fee for each class is $35 per person and the enrollment is limited to 15 for each class.

Theater Production: Putting on a Show is for those interested in learning how to put on a theatre production from start to finish, including: stage preparation, lighting, sound systems, and image presentation. This class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 - 7 p.m. and is open to anyone ages 9 and up. Adult/parent attendance is required for students under the age of 14. There is a fee of $65 per person and the class size is limited to 50. This class will begin January 18 and meet through March 21, 2012.

Both classes are open to the public and will be taught by expert instructor, Elena Vitale, in the College Lecture Center, Room 250.
