Cerro Coso Community College Accepting Registrations for Project Management and Communication Skills Classes

Professional Development stock photo Cerro Coso Community College's Ridgecrest campus is now accepting registrations for its Professional Development Series through the Office of Community Education. These classes are open to the public.

Basic Project Management ($195) November 4, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. will cover the basics of planning and managing projects. Topics will include: identify project management skills, determine the elements of a successful project, define and scope essential project requirements to make clear agreements, manage expectations and negotiate changes, estimate required tasks to get vital resources, organize the work and develop schedules, manage risks, and end projects efficiently and effectively.

Advanced Project Management ($195) November 18, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. will focus on team and stakeholder dynamics. This seven hour course will instruct on how to organize a team for performance, focus on customer service, negotiate clear roles and responsibilities to reduce conflict and improve coordination, manage agreements, resolve differences, and manage others through improved self-management.

Communicating to Get Results ($195) December 8 & 9, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. learn the four types of conversations that get work done; assess your own communication skills; effectively introduce a new goal, propose an idea, or launch change; help others engage in asking questions and contribute ideas; increase personal effectiveness and reliability; and help people to put the past behind them and move forward with credibility, positive attitude, and a sense of accomplishment.

The minimum age for these classes is 18 and each class is limited to 40 students. All classes will be held on the Cerro Coso Community College Ridgecrest campus.
