Cerro Coso to offer Extended Orientation for New Students

July 28, 2011

Cerro Coso Community College invites all new students and parents to attend an "Extended Orientation" session designed to assist students in making a successful transition into college. Two extended orientation sessions are being offered at Cerro Coso this fall: Wednesday, August 17th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursday, August 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. This is a time for students to get better acquainted with Cerro Coso and the many services it provides.

The College has planned thorough orientations that will include general information; admissions and updates; financial aid and scholarship availability; guided tours of the campus; an overview of campus and online resources; an introduction to the Learning Resource Center and tutoring services; educational planning; a review of student leadership, clubs, and campus activities; a tour of the college bookstore and various book options available; and much, much, more…

Orientation is strongly encouraged for all new students. Participants will receive a bag full of supplies to help get them started. Attend an Extended Orientation Session and learn what you need to know to get the most of your education at Cerro Coso.

Sign-up at the Cerro Coso Counseling desk located on the 2nd floor of the Main Building or call (760) 384-6219 for a reservation.
