Cerro Coso College Foundation to hold 3rd Annual Denim & Diamonds Gala

March 18, 2011

The Cerro Coso Community College Foundation will hold its 3nd Annual Denim & Diamonds Gala on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Kerr McGee Center. The sub-theme for this year is the "Gold Rush". The dinner/dancing and silent auction evening of fun and entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner (catered by Casey's), silent auction and dancing. The King of Denim and Queen of Diamonds Coronation will take place at 8:30 p.m. The silent auction will run throughout the evening. "You won't want to miss this event…we have loads of great items to bid on," stated Cheryl Gates, silent auction coordinator and Foundation President.

As state appropriations continue to decline, public support becomes vital to the programs and services of Cerro Coso Community College. Financial support is one of the most pressing issues the college faces today. The mission of the CCCC Foundation is to assist the college with fundraisings efforts. "Fundraisers like the Denim and Diamonds Gala along with the support we receive from individuals and local businesses is critical to our mission to educate, innovate, and inspire the many communities we serve," stated Cerro Coso Community College President, Jill Board.

Tickets for the Denim & Diamonds Gala are only $25.00 per person. Tickets are available from the Maturango Museum, Red Rock Books, and the Cerro Coso Bookstore and Business Office. "Dress in your jeans, formal attire, or a combination of both and be prepared to have fun," said Board
