Popular Alternative Pop-Rock Band To Perform at Cerro Coso Community College

February 07, 2011

Walk Off Hits

The popular alternative pop-rock band "Walk Off Hits" will perform in the Cerro Coso Community College Luis Miro Sculpture Garden on Saturday, February 12, 2011. The 1 p.m. concert will be a free event for all those in attendance.

The Associated Students of Cerro Coso are thrilled that they were able to sign "Walk Off Hits" out of Las Vegas and offer the event as a FREE concert to the community. Walk Off Hits will be the Associations first band of the season to start off the Concert in the Garden series this spring.

Walk Off Hits is an all original pop/rock/alternative band hailing out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The band was started by Ross LaMarca and Will Bauer in the spring of 2009. Since then, the band has gone through many lineup changes, but as of now, 2011, the boys of Walk Off Hits have finally found some solidity. They added one of Boulder City's finest guitar players to their lineup in Cory Williams. Cory has given the band some flexibility as he can play many different genres of music. They also recently added local Boulder City drummer, and old time friend, Spencer Sarita to the group. Spencer understands the type of sound that the boys are going for, and understands that LESS, truly is more.

The band that you hear today is influenced by many different bands and musicians. Anything from the funk and blues sounds of Tower of Power, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, to the catchy pop-punk of All Time Low, Blink182, and Sum41 can influence a Walk Off Hits song.

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, and a friend and enjoy the great sounds of "Walk Off Hits". Water, soft drinks, and treats will be available for purchase.
