Explore the basics of Physical Science at Cerro Coso this Spring

Edward Teets will instruct a Concepts of Physical Science course at Cerro Coso Community College's South Kern Campus during the spring 2011 semester. The 3-unit course will meet on Thursdays from 5:10 to 8:20 p.m. at the Center for Excellence and lays the foundation for lifelong learning in the sciences. PHSC C111 will survey concepts in physics and chemistry, with applications to the earth sciences and astronomy, for the non science major. Topics to be explored will include motion, energy, electricity, magnetism, waves, atoms, chemistry and chemical reactions on a conceptual basis with a minimum amount of mathematics.

This Physical Science course is a foundational course that will assist students in building a rich knowledge base for future study in the sciences. Physical Science is an interesting and exciting subject of value in many walks of life. There is a great need for people who understand scientific principles and know how to think logically. Increasing ones knowledge and skills in these areas can help them to excel in school, advance in their careers, and improve their businesses and products.
