Computer Information Systems/Computer Science/Business Office Technology Courses Offered Through Cerro Coso Community College This Fall

Enrollment is available in the following online courses being offered by Cerro Coso Community College this fall:

CSCI C267 Java Programming – August 23 – December 11 (CRN 70132)
This course introduces techniques and principles of problem solving using computer systems with the Java computer programming language. The development of applications and applets with Java will be covered using object-oriented programming techniques. (36 hours lecture/54 hours lab) Advisories for this course include: CSCI C251 Introduction to Visual Basic Programming or CSCI C252 Introduction to Computer Science, AND Math 55 Intermediate Algebra.

CSCI C187 Introduction to Microsoft Project – August 23 – October 11 (CRN 70130)
This course introduces the learner to concepts of project management and the Microsoft Project program. Students learn how to plan projects, create project schedules, communicate project information, assign resources and costs to project tasks, and track and forecast project and completion. (9 hours lecture/27 hours lab) Advisory for this course is CSCI C101 Introduction to Computer Information Systems.

CSCI C121 Beginning Word Processing – Aug 28 to Dec 4, Saturdays, from 9:00 to 11:10 am (CRN 70100)
This hands-on computer course is designed to provide basic understanding of word processing concepts using Microsoft Word (2007). Learners create, edit, and format documents including business letters, multiple-page reports, newsletters, and cover letters. This course begins preparation for the Microsoft Office Application Specialist certification exam for Microsoft Word 2007. (9 hours lecture/27 hours lab)

CSCI C151 Intermediate Word Processing – Aug 28 to Dec 4, Saturdays, from 9:00 to 11:10 am (CRN 70113)
This hands-on computer course is designed to provide an intermediate understanding of word processing concepts using Microsoft Word (2007). Learners create, edit and format documents including a business plan, form letters, mailing labels, and learn how to collaborate with others on the creation of complex documents. This course continues preparation for the Microsoft Office Application Specialist certification exam for Microsoft Word 2007. (9 hours lecture/27 hours lab)

CSCI C161 Advanced Word Processing – Aug 28 to Dec 4, Saturdays, from 9:00 to 11:10 am (CRN 70121)
This hands-on computer course is designed to provide an advanced understanding of word processing concepts using Microsoft Word (2007). Learners create a document template, apply advanced word processing features, import and run Visual Basic for Applications, (VBA) macros, create on-screen forms and calculations with advanced table techniques, record macros, and work with long documents and subdocuments. This course completes preparation for the expert level Microsoft Office Application Specialist certification exam for Microsoft Word 2007. (9 hours lecture/27 hours lab)
