Business Law and Human Relations Topics of Cerro Coso Businesses Classes this Fall

Ridgecrest, California (August 2, 2010) - Cerro Coso Community College is offering business classes this fall designed to help student develop leadership skills and provide specialized training to approach obstacles with proven methods and innovative solutions.

BSAD C131 Business Law I - Introduces students to the legal environment of business and the American legal system. Students examine contracts in depth and agency law. The course includes a study of the governmental regulation of business and the relationship between administrative/legislative (state and federal) law, and business ethics. The three unit class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:10 to 6:35 p.m. with Instructor Anthony Damiano. The primary purpose of this course is to develop an understanding of the legal framework of business-the basic principles of law that apply to business transactions as they relate to the legal process, legal system, business crimes, ethics, contracts, torts and regulation of business.

BSAD C141 Human Relations in Business – Utilizing a behavioral science approach students gain an understanding of human relations in the business environment. Emphasis is placed on elements of job applications and job advancement, motivation, people-to-people relationships, effective communication, and techniques of leadership on the job. Case studies, experiential exercises, and projects are used to assist students in understanding the material. Anita Paiz will instruct the three unit course on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:10 to 6:35 p.m. beginning August 24, 2010.
