Kern Valley Orchestra Offered as a Community Education Class

The Cerro Coso Community College, Kern River Valley (KRV) Campus in Lake Isabella is offering Kern Valley Orchestra has a Community Education class. This class, instructed by Bruce Brady, will meet on Monday evenings from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. beginning January 25, 2010 through May 10, 2010 at the KRV Campus in Room G. There is a $50.00 Community Education fee for this course and the minimum age is 10 years old.

The Cerro Coso Kern Valley Orchestra performs a variety of styles of music – classical and semi-classical music, music from the stage and movies, popular music, music from around the world, and big-band/jazz arrangements. Students will be required to participate in two performances per semester. All students should be able to play all major scales and be able to read music. Woodwind or brass musicians should have at least one-year of playing experience or instruction. String musicians should have at least three years playing experience or instruction or be able to play in 3rd position.

Students are to print and complete the "Student Registration Form" found on the College website at www.cerrocoso.edu/communityed under Kern River Valley Campus. To register mail or fax your completed form to the phone number and address list at the top of the form. You can also register in person at the Admissions and Records Office.
