College to Present Fall Choir Concert

The
Cerro Coso Community College choir will present the Fall 2009 Concert on
Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. in the College Lecture Center. The choir was
directed this semester for the first time by Amber Diane Farris. "I am
so excited to be conducting the Choir at Cerro Coso. Cerro Coso is
where I sang my first large choral work and began my collegiate musical
training," stated instructor/choir director Amber Diane Farris. Farris,
mezzo-soprano, is a graduate of Cerro Coso College, California State
University Los Angeles, holding a Masters of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of
Arts in Choral Music Education. Farris has served on the faculty of
California State University, Los Angeles and has joined the music faculty at
Pilgrim School this academic year. "The choir has been fantastic to
work with. I am pleased with their musical abilities and look forward to our
first of what I hope will be many great performances," continued Farris.
The choir will be performing a variety of music, including a medley of South
Pacific show tunes, works by Vivaldi, Handel, Mendelssohn, and Thompson, and
a Christmas carol sing along! The public is cordially invited to
attend this free choir concert. Donations are gratefully accepted. Seating
is limited, so be sure to arrive early. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
