College Offers Community Education Class on Identity Theft

Cerro Coso Community College is offering a Community Education class on
"Identity Theft Protection" which will meet on flex Friday, October 16, 2009
from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. This class will meet in Cerro Coso's
Learning Resource Center, Room 604. There is a $40.00 Community
Education fee for this course which includes all class materials. Instructed
by Robert Pearce, Private Investigator, attendees will learn to deter,
detect, and most importantly defend themselves against this rapidly growing
crime in America. Participants will learn how to modify their everyday
behavior to reduce their exposure to identity theft. Students will
also learn when and how to use a fraud alert or security freeze on their
credit file, how to order and read their credit file history and paying
attention to signs of illegal activity. This class is limited to 40
students and the minimum age is 16 years.
