Alternative Class Options for the Adventurous Student

August 24, 2009

If you are wanting to enroll as a full-time student, and enjoy the college experience of living in student housing then try the Mammoth Campus of Cerro Coso Community College. It's the best kept secret going!! Who says you can't combine work, play and college classes? That's what students enrolled at the Mammoth Campus are doing every day! They are "living large" in the deluxe apartment-style housing units and furthering their higher education goals at the adjacent college center .

The Mammoth Campus still has plenty of core class offerings such as Freshman Composition, Cultural Anthropology, business etc. They also have vocational type classes still available such as EMT, Child Development and Digital Video Production. Students at the Mammoth Campus enjoy small class sizes, individualized attention and beautiful mountain views. Who could resist that?

Their student housing facility (privately owned and operated by the Mammoth Lakes Foundation) is the first community college student housing facility to open in over two decades. Its list of amenities includes a well equipped gym, beautiful outdoor courtyard with gas BBQ's and flat-screen tv's in their rooms. Students are able to request a studio or a shared one-bedroom apartment.

If you want to take college classes close to home, perhaps work at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, and enjoy small town influences amid the big outdoor spaces then Cerro Coso's Eastern Sierra College Center at Mammoth is for you!

Classes are still available for the Fall 2009 semester, which begins on August 24. Enroll on-line www.cerrocoso.edu. Or call the Mammoth Campus at (760) 934-2875. Visit mammothstudentapartments.org or call (760) 934-5215 for more information.
