IWV Campus Offers Community Education Class on Identity Theft

Cerro Coso Community College is offering a Community Education class on "Identity Theft, Protection and Recovery" which will meet on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. This class will meet in Cerro Coso's Learning Resource Center, Room 604. There is a $40.00 Community Education fee for this course which includes all class materials. Instructed by Robert Pearce, Private Investigator, attendees will learn to deter, detect, and most importantly defend themselves against this rapidly growing crime in America. Participants will learn how to modify their everyday behavior to reduce their exposure to identity theft. Students will also learn when and how to use a fraud alert or security freeze on their credit file, how to order and read their credit file history and paying attention to signs of illegal activity.

Registrations forms can be found at: http://www.cerrocoso.edu/communityed. Students are to bring their completed registration forms to the College Admissions & Records Office and pay the $40 fee. Register today; this class is limited to 45 students. To secure your spot in the class, registration forms may also be faxed to A&R at (760) 384-6377 or mailed to Cerro Coso Community College, Attention: A&R, 3000 College Heights Blvd., Ridgecrest, CA 93555 and pay the $40 fee before the start of the class.
