College to Hold "Earth Day" Celebration

The Cerro Coso Community College, Associated Students of Cerro Coso (A.S.C.C.) are proud to sponsor an "Earth Day Celebration," on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the fountain area off the College Student Center. The public is invited. The following groups will be participating along with several of the College's student clubs: Bureau of Land Management (BLM) – student conservation group; IWV Water District; Kerncrest Audubon Society; Maturango Museum; Southern California Edison energy unit; Cerro Coso's Information Technology Department will be hosting a Electronic Waste Recycle drop off point; the College will be conducting a Curt Sherwood fundraiser yard sale; Associated Students of Cerro Coso will be selling reusable shopping bags; Phi Theta Kappa will be showing screenings in the College Lecture Center on Global Warming, produced by the University of California Television; and there will also be a guest speaker or two on Wind Energy and Solar Technologies. This should be a great event! Visit the College for this "Earth Day Celebration" on Tuesday, April 21 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 pm.
