South Kern Campus Offers Late Start Eight-Week Classes

Enroll now! The Cerro Coso Community College, South Kern Campus,
located on Edwards, AFB, is offering three eight-week accelerated classes
beginning the week of March 16, 2009. The classes being offered
are: PHIL C161 (Course Reference Number 30486) – Intro to Religious
Studies – This 3-unit class meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:40
p.m. and begins on March 17 through May 14, 2009. Instructed by Mark
Campbell, this course will explore and explain the historical role of
religion in human life across cultures and will also explore the place of
religion in the global culture of the 21st century. PSYCH C101
(Course Reference Number 30505) – General Psychology – This 3-unit class
meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 8:25 p.m. and begins on March 17
through May 14, 2009. Instructed by Henry Edwards, this course offers
the student an introduction to the scientific study of behavior;
perceptions, thinking, motivation, emotion, intelligence and learning; and
general psychological principles. SPCH C101 (Course Reference Number
30542) – Elements of Speech – This 3-unit class meets on Monday and
Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:40 p.m. and begins on March 16 through May 14,
2009. Instructed by Janis Fisher, students will learn to make
effective oral presentations by gathering and selecting information,
arranging materials, analyzing audience and occasion, and controlling
expression and delivery.
Tuition – California residents, active duty military and their dependents
pay $20.00 per unit to enroll in Cerro Coso Community College classes. These
classes will be held at the Center of Excellence located at
100 Payne Avenue, Edwards Air Force Base.
Students may register at the Cerro Coso Community College, South Kern Campus
at 140 Methusa Avenue, Bldg 2453, Edwards, AFB during regular business hours
