Driver's Education Class Starts January 14th

Attention Beginning Drivers! Have we got a wonderful holiday gift
for you! The Cerro Coso Community College, Kern River Valley Campus in Lake
Isabella is offering Driver's Education as a Community Education Class. This
class, taught by James Thompson, will meet nine times beginning on
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 through February 11, 2009. The class will
meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Kern
Valley High School.
This Driver's Education class will present to the beginning driver a
practical and realistic guide to the fundamentals of driving and the rules
of the road. This course will take the student step by step from the
basics of vehicle control to the specific dangers of different driving
environments to the responsibilities of vehicle ownership. The student
will receive knowledge to help him/her be a safe and competent driver.
This class meets the requirements of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV),
but does not offer behind the wheel instruction. There is a class fee of
$40.
Students may register, with parental consent, and pay the Community
Education fee at the Cerro Coso Community College office located at 5520
Lake Isabella Boulevard during regular business hours. Please be aware
that Cerro Coso Community College will be closed during Winter Recess from
Monday, December 22 through Friday, January 2, 2009. Don't delay; this
Driver's Education class starts on January 14, 2009. Registration forms can

For Spring 2009 classes, online registration is available 7 days a week, 24
hours a day through the College website:
www.cerrocoso.edu. The Spring schedule of classes is also
exclusively available online. The Spring 2009 semester will convene on
Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
