Approximately 225 5th grade students from Las Flores, Richmond, Inyokern, Immanuel and St. Ann's elementary schools attended the event. The 5th graders were on campus to learn about the opportunities that await them at Cerro Coso Community College. The 5th graders were welcomed by Cerro Coso president Dr. Retterer; and vice-president of Student Learning, Dr. James Fay.

The 5th graders were given tours of the campus by members of the Cerro Coso student body (Student Ambassadors and Student workers, and Student volunteers). The fifth graders enjoyed three different demonstrations given by Dick Benson, Professor of Art; Debby Kilburn, Professor of Computer Information Systems; and Shannon Bliss, Associate Professor of Biology.
