Brianna Lane, Singer & Guitarist, to Appear at College
March 31, 2008
Brianna
Lane is a star in the making. She is poised, ambitious, a great writer, a
soul singer of the first order, and a accomplished guitarist. She is also an
advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered peoples.. Lane will be
appearing at the Cerro Coso lecture center on April 4 at 7 p.m.
Lane grew up in Minnesota, once found a home in the mountains of North
Carolina, but who is truly a restless old soul. She has been on the
road non-stop for several years so you can hear her experiences in every
note she sings. This lady puts the word "singer" in singer/songwriter.
She gains inspiration from the books she reads and the people she meets
along the way as well as drawing from such famous folkies as Shawn Colvin,
Greg Brown, and Ryan Adams, In her years of traveling Lane has shared
the stage with Dar Williams, The Weepies, and Jennifer Nettles (of
Sugarland) as well as sharing dozens of dates with Chris Pureka and many
other rising stars of the folk world.
Brianna Lane has two self-released albums and in the fall of 2007 Lane is
celebrating the release of her third CD "Let You In". Like the eleven
tracks on "Radiator" (2005) this new collection of songs is introspective,
heart-warming, and beautifully rough around the edges much like Lanes
outlook on life. "Lane's songs are beautiful and cathartic, almost
telling us that it's ok to fee down, but not to let it get us down at the
same time." (Mish-Mash Reviews).
Tickets are $5.00 general admission. Free with advance ticket pick up for
students with a valid ASCC card, or $1.00 at the door. Tickets are
available at Red Rock Books, Student Activities Office Room 248, Cerro Coso
Business Office, and at the door.
