ESCC Campus
Media Arts Courses for Photographers to be Offered at ESCC this Summer
June 6, 2007
Summer is ideal for photography in the Eastern Sierra, and Cerro Coso
Community College is offering two courses to enable you to enhance your
photos and share them with others.
Retouch and enhance your photos in the "Digital Photo Retouching Workshop"
(MA C061). Students will use Adobe Photoshop to crop, scale, and rotate
images; make color, tonal, and saturation adjustments; retouch and replace
problem areas of a photo, sharpen images, apply artistic filters to
transform the appearance of photos, and prepare images for the Web. No prior
knowledge of Photoshop is required. This 8-week class begins June 26 and
meets Tuesdays from 5:30 pm through 9:35 pm. The course registration number
is 50273. This is a 1 unit class offered in Bishop with Kiana Wyatt as the
instructor.
Create a Web site to showcase your digital photos in the "Web Site Photo
Gallery Workshop" (MA C063). Students will use Adobe Dreamweaver to use and
modify templates, create animated slide shows, and add and edit content,
including text, hyperlinks, and images. No prior knowledge of HTML or
Dreamweaver is required. This 8-week class begins June 25 and meets Mondays
and Wednesdays from 5:30 pm through 10:00 pm. The course registration number
is 50274. This is a 2 unit class offered by instructor Suzie Ama.
Textbooks are not required for either class, and students can use the
software provided in the computer classroom and open lab. Students may also
opt to purchase their own software, and if so, there are many excellent
software vendors that offer deep discounts for students and provide
overnight shipping.
Students can call (760) 872-1565 to register for either or both classes or
sign up online at www.cerrocoso.edu.
