Library Research Class Offered this Summer at ESCC

June 6, 2007

Cerro Coso Community College is offering a 1-unit "Introduction to Library Research" course this summer to take place on three Saturdays: June 30, July 14, and July 28, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The class will meet at the Eastern Sierra College Center in Bishop. Learn to untangle the web of information on the Internet and apply research tips and tricks to your personalized research topics.

Introduction to Library Research (LIT C075, CRN 50107) will introduce you to the research process, provide instruction on how to compile a bibliography, teach you how to use specialized research databases and print resources, and also how to evaluate information found on the Internet—a vital skill in today's world of "information overload". Conduct specialized research on a topic of your choosing in this hands-on, open lab course.

Aside from offering many useful research skills to community members and students, Introduction to Library Research also satisfies the Information Competency graduation requirement for the AA and AS degrees. For $20 students can enroll in this class and gain unlimited access to Cerro Coso's online database from campus and home.

Enroll by calling: (760) 872-1565 or online at www.cerrocoso.edu.
