Cerro Coso Offers Six Day Driver's Education Class

It is not too late to register! Free up your parents and take the first step in learning to drive! Cerro Coso Community College is supporting new drivers by offering a Community Education Class in Driver's Education. The class, instructed by Steve Tomlinson, will begin on Monday, June 11, 2007 and go through Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Burroughs High School in Portable #3. This class will meet six times, Monday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Driver's Education will present to the beginning driver a practical and realistic guide to the fundamentals of driving and the rules of the road. This class will take the student step by step from the basics of vehicle control to the specific dangers of different driving environments to the responsibilities of vehicle ownership. The student will receive knowledge to help him/her be a safe and competent driver. Parental consent is required. This class meets the classroom requirements of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), but does not offer behind the wheel instruction. There is a class fee of $40.

Parents may register students at the Cerro Coso Community College, Admissions and Records Office or call 384-6374 for more information. To save time, you may also download, print, and complete the registration form from http://www.cerrocoso.edu/communityed/ and bring it with you to the Admissions and Records Office and pay the $40 fee.
