CCCC to Hold 34th Commencement Exercise
May 9, 2007
The Cerro Coso Community College 34th Commencement Exercise is slated for
Friday, May 18 at 6 p.m. Commencement will be held in the Gym located in the
Raymond A. McCue Athletic Complex on the west side of the college's Indian
Wells Valley Campus in Ridgecrest.
Cerro Coso will be honoring a class of nearly 300 eligible graduates from
the IWV Campus, Kern River Valley Center in Lake Isabella, South Kern Center
at Edwards Air Force Base, and the Eastern Sierra College Center located in
Bishop and Mammoth Lakes.
The following three students have been selected by the Academic Senate to
address the graduates at commencement: Ted Higle (A.A. General Education)
and Scott Toborg (A.A. General Education) both from the Indian Wells Valley
Campus and Christine Effinger (A.A. General Education) from the Kern River
Valley Campus.
Doug Schweitzer has been selected as the Alumni Association's Distinguished
Commencement Speaker. Schweitzer graduated from Cerro Coso in 2001 with an
Associate of Arts Degree. He then graduated from the University of Manitoba
with a Law Degree in 2006.
"Cerro Coso is extremely proud of its graduates, and we would like to extend
a warm invitation to the public to join us in honoring their outstanding
accomplishment" stated Interim President of Cerro Coso Community College,
