CC Mammoth Adds Short Term Computer Classes

Cerro Coso Community College, Eastern Sierra College Center, Mammoth Campus
has added three-short term, hands-on computer application classes this
Spring. All three classes will be offered on Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. to
noon. Each class is 0.5 units of credit and will cost only $10. Instructor
Matt Hightower will teach all three courses.
"Special Topics in Computer Science" Level 1 class, CRN 33342 will be
offered on March 13, 20, and 27. This course introduces students to the use
of Microsoft Excel 2003. Topics covered will include: Excel basics, entering
and editing data, modifying a worksheet, using functions, formatting
worksheets, printing, creating charts, and using Web features.
"Special Topics in Computer Science" Level 2 class, CRN 33343 will be
offered on April 10, 17, and 24. This course will cover the intermediate
uses of Microsoft Excel 2003. The class will cover working with large
worksheets, working with multiple worksheets and workbooks, customizing
Excel XP, advanced charting, advanced formatting, list management,
documenting and auditing, and using templates.
"Special Topics in Computer Science" Level 1 class in Applied Access will be
offered May 1, 8, and 15. This course introduces students to the use of
Microsoft Access 2003. Topics to be covered include: Access Basics, database
concepts, table and field creation, table design, indexes, and data
validation. The creation and use of forms, queries, and reports will also be
covered.
