College Driver's Education Class Starts January 3, 2007

Need a Stocking Stuffer for your teen(s)? Cerro Coso Community College is supporting new drivers by offering a Community Education Class in Driver's Education. The class, instructed by Steve Tomlinson, will meet at Burroughs High School in Portable #3 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. beginning January 3, 2007 through February 21, 2007.

Driver's Education will present to the beginning driver a practical and realistic guide to the fundamentals of driving and the rules of the road. This class will take the student step by step from the basics of vehicle control to the specific dangers of different driving environments to the responsibilities of vehicle ownership. The student will receive knowledge to help him/her be a safe and competent driver. Parental consent is required. This class meets the classroom requirements of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), but does not offer behind the wheel instruction. There is a class fee of $40.

Parents may register students at Cerro Coso Community College, Office of Student Learning, Room 214 or call 384-6258 for more information. You may also download, print, and complete the registration form from http://www.cerrocoso.edu/communityed/ and mail along with the $40 fee to Cerro Coso Community College, Community Education, Attention: Lia Bement, 3000 College Heights Blvd., Ridgecrest, CA 93555.
