CCCC to Host Performances of the Nutcracker Ballet in Mojave

Casting is complete for the 2006 Cerro Coso Community College production of the Nutcracker Ballet in Mojave. This production is the eleventh presentation of the Nutcracker Ballet by Cerro Coso Community College. The ballet will be performed Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Mojave High School Mustang Gymnasium located at 15732 "O" Street in Mojave. Tickets can be purchased at the Cerro Coso Business Office in Ridgecrest, the Cerro Coso South Kern Office on Edwards AFB, Mojave Movements Arts Center in Mojave, Gardner Realty in Mojave, from cast members, and at the Mojave Gym one half hour prior to the show. Ticket price is $5.00 for children 12 years and under and $7.00 for adults.

The cast includes the following children and adults from the many communities in Kern County and the Antelope Valley: Paul Irving from Bakersfield; Kaylee and Kelsey Evans, Crystal and Loretta Warren, Daniel, James, Jennifer, Patrick, Ruthanne, and Valerie Welling, and Louise Archuleta from California City; Michael Cox, Raquel Kelly, Lourdes Oceguera, Hailee Reinke, and Victoria Trotter from Mojave; Christiana and Giselle Kallemeyn and Joanna Kreiger from Lancaster; Natalie Colvin and Robert Irving from Palmdale; Cassie and Rebecca Johnson, and Kayla Rubin from Ridgecrest; Olivia Harter, Hayley McCully, Alex and Tabitha Newman, David Reynolds, and Bianca Paz from Rosamond.

Robert Irving will perform as the Nutcracker Prince, doing battle with the Rat King, performed by David Reynolds and partnering the Sugar Plum Fairy, danced by guest artist Yoko Ambe. Michael Cox will perform the role of the mysterious Herr Drosselmeyer. Natalie Colvin will dance the part of Clara, the young girl who receives the marvelous Nutcracker.
