"The San Juan River Expedition is an "easy" river trip, with a few Class I
and II rapids to splash you once in a while. Nothing BIG – just a lot of
fun." states instructor Janet Westbrook. The class will visit many
archeology sites – Ansazi ruins and petroglyph panels, which can be reached
only by river; many side canyons and grottoes to explore, and 2 plus days of
traversing the famous "Goosenecks of the San Juan". This is "red rock
country" at it's finest! There are 86 river miles from Bluff to Lake Powell.
This trip will be run as a Community Education class so participants do not
need to sign up through Cerro Coso's regular enrollment process – all you
need to do is get the proper registration form from Lia Bement in the Office
of Instruction room 214, Cerro Coso Community College Indian Wells Valley
Campus.
Sign up now! Space is limited to 20 students.
