Cerro Coso Community College will once again be offering Community Band for college credit this fall. MUSC C141Community Band—will meet on Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:10 p.m. in the College Lecture Center (MB 250).

Community Band is an excellent opportunity to partner with other musicians in the area. Not only does it provide an opportunity to build bonds with other artists and learn from their expertise and experiences, but students will also earn 1 unit of college credit.

All band musicians should have at least 2 years of prior instruction. Brass and woodwind musicians should be able to play several major and minor scales to take this class.

Debra Veit will instruct the course and assist participants to improve musical skills, appreciate music and the different styles, and play musical instruments as part of a group. The sense of community, aesthetics, and perseverance instilled in band members remains throughout life. The band will perform one or two times for the Ridgecrest Community.

Complete registration and course information is available on the web at http://www.cerrocoso.edu, or contact Debra Veit at: dveit@cerrocoso.edu. Fall classes begin August 24, 2013.
