The Office of Community Education at Cerro Coso Community College aims to provide tennis to the community regardless of skill level. The College has announced there are still openings in the Recreational Tennis class with instructor Kurt Menard. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. through the end of May.

Classes are catered to the absolute beginner, the player who needs individual stroke concentration, and to those players who just want to play and improve their conditioning and/or strategic gameplay.

Tennis can be just the fitness vehicle you've been looking for. This hands-on class will teach the basic fundamentals of tennis, groundstrokes, serve and return-of-serve. Learn how to volley, the rules of tennis, scoring, tennis terminology, and playing procedures.

The class is open to both men and women 16 and older and does not award college credit. A Community Education fee of $50 will be charged.

Grab a friend and your racquet and get to the courts.
