Cerro Coso Students Help Peers with Food for the Holidays

November 7, 2012

The Student Government of Cerro Coso and Access Programs are hosting a Holiday Food Drive to help their fellow peers this holiday season. Donations of non-perishable food items may be dropped off at the Student Activities Office in the Student Center of the Ridgecrest campus up until Thanksgiving.

"It can get expensive to be a college student especially during the holidays," said Michael Lelis, SGCC Secretary. "The SGCC is always looking for ways to help students, and by joining forces with the Access Program we can help needy students this holiday season."

Food baskets will be given to Cerro Coso students in need who have signed up in the Access Programs Office (formerly known as Special Services) on the third floor of the main building. "Changing the world is not about big people doing big things, but about everyday people like you and I doing everyday things – and when we do this collectively, it creates big change," said Michael.
