Driver's Education Class Starts January 12th @ IWV

Cerro Coso Community College is supporting new drivers by offering a
Community Education Class in Driver's Education. The class, instructed
by Steve Tomlinson, will meet at Burroughs High School in Portable #3 on
Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. beginning Monday,
January 12, 2009 through Wednesday, February 25, 2009.
Driver's Education will present to the beginning driver a practical and
realistic guide to the fundamentals of driving and the rules of the road.
This class will take the student step by step from the basics of vehicle
control to the specific dangers of different driving environments to the
responsibilities of vehicle ownership. The student will receive
knowledge to help him/her be a safe and competent driver. Parental consent
is required. This class meets the classroom requirements of the
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), but does not offer behind the wheel
instruction. There is a class fee of $40.
Parents may register students at the Cerro Coso Community College,
Admissions and Records Office the week of January 5 through 12:00 noon on
Friday, January 9, 2009 or call 384-6374 for more information. To save
time, you may also download, print, and complete the registration form from
http://www.cerrocoso.edu/communityed/ and bring it with you to the
Admissions and Records Office and pay the $40 fee. Please be aware
that Cerro Coso Community College will be closed for Winter Recess from
Monday, December 22 through Friday, January 2, 2009.
For Spring 2009 classes, online registration is available 7 days a week, 24
hours a day through the College website:
www.cerrocoso.edu. The Spring schedule of classes is now
exclusively available online. The Spring 2009 semester will convene on
Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
